All good things must come to an end.

As im writing this we are waiting for the bus to Cusco to see the wonderfull and mysterious Machu Picchu. This will also be my last destination on this world trip. Yup… you read it right, after this im going home. And you’ve also read it right, I am going home. Sanne is going to continue this beautifull trip of ours but sadly i’ve ran out of money and that means reality is around the corner to hit me upside the head 😉 .

Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Curacao and Peru. 11 countries, 23 flights, around 100 hostels and countless busses and taxi’s in just short of a year. My favourite countries by far are Laos and Japan, these countries i will definitly visit again in the  future. It has been an awesome ride, met so many cool people such as the “Laos crew”, the people on the boat in Indonesia, The Ausie peeps Allison, Emma, Chelsea, Brad and Andrea and the Dutchies Mickey, Paul, Sebas, Rogier. Im probably forgetting a few more names. But i want to thank all the people that we’ve met for a great time. But the 27th of March its time to fly back home. And it feels good to go home, because I was at a point where i was traveling just to travel and not to see new things. And that is not a good way to travel. So I’ll go back home find a job (reality check) and recharge my batteries and my curiousity about the world. Because my goal was also to travel around South America and that will remain a goal.

Ofcourse im also feeling a bit sad because im leaving Sanne behind, i would rather take her home with me but she is a strong girl and she wants to continue this trip. Who am i to tell her otherwise right 😉 . When im at home i will be a spectator of her adventures, just like you guys. That will be weird for me in the beginning but i will enjoy all of her stories and pictures.

On this trip i’ve realised and learned a few things about myself. When im home i will try to spend more time with my friends, ive never taken them for granted but i would like to see them more. I would like to do more outdoor activities such as surfing, its going to be hard to do that in Holland since we dont have that much waves here but it is a sport that ive come to like alot.

So with this post i say goodbye to an amazing world and hello to my country Holland.

  2. Mooi geschreven.
