After our sprint through Cambodia, we’ve finally arrived in Vietnam. We began our tour in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a place with all the qualities of a city that you would find back home. It might not be like home but we kind of felt like this doing things we would have done at home. Going to the cinema, doing a walking tour through the old part and also rich part of Ho Chi Minh City, going to the water puppet theater and also watched several dance classes at the community center. At this community center there were a lot of people that were doing a sport or something just to be active. This made me realize that Vietnamese people are very socialy active people. And that is a cool thing to see, especialy when you compare this to Holland where everybody is doing there own thing after work. And to proof my point at the dance classes we watched, I was asked to join the class. I did not do that because these kids were a little bit to good for the level of dance that i have. But still they invited us to take a seat and watch there class dance. That was a cool thing to see and experience (even though we didnt dance ourselfs;)).
After Ho Chi Minh City we took the bus to Mui Né. This is a city along the coast of Vietnam, where there is not alot to do but there was one interesting thing that we wanted to see. The red and white sanddunes. We started early in the morning with the white dunes to see the sunrise. But as you might have guessed, just like with the sunrise at Angkor Wat, we had alot of clouds and there was no sunrise to be seen. But still it was cool to stand on a sanddune that was more then 30 meters high. After this we went sandsledding on the red sanddunes, wich was realy cool to do. It made us feel like little kids again.
And oyeah, i almost forgot to tell you. I tried surfing in this place. And for a first time on proper waves i didnt do all that bad. I caught 2 waves where i was standing and 3 three waves just laying on my board. But i realized one thing after this, and that is that definitlye need to do some push ups to combine the paddeling in the water and push myself up to stand on the board. Cause my god that was hard. I still ended up 2 hours in the water.
Next stop was Nha Trang. This city is just a place where you can relax on the beach during the day and party at night. We did not do the beach thing because of the bad weather that continues to follow us around. But we did party one night. We did that with our good friend Colm from Ireland. If you guys been reading most of our post you might remember his name from the Loas Crew in Vang Vieng.
Next place that we are heading to is Hoi An, a town thats on the Unesco heritagelist. So that probably means that we are going to see some beautifull things here. Ill keep you posted about that.
